3 October 2017 – Universiti Teknologi Brunei (UTB) and BAG Networks signed an Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) at the Design & Technology Building, Anggerek Desa Tech Park. The MoU signified the beginning of collaboration initiatives between UTB and BAG Networks, embarking on an academic-industry partnership between Brunei’s National Engineering and Technology University with the pioneer for data analytics in the local info-communication industry.
During the signing ceremony, Vice-Chancellor, Professor Dr. Dayang Hajah Zohrah Binti Hj Sulaiman represented UTB while Dayang Haslina Binti Hj Mohd Taib signed on behalf of BAG Networks. The signing was witnessed by Dr Hajah Noor Maya Binti Hj Md Salleh, UTB Assistant Vice-Chancellor (Academic) and Mohamad Hasnalluddin Bin Yahya, Legal Advisor of BAG Networks.
With this MoU, technical consultants from BAG Networks will contribute in the development and delivery of curriculum content related in the fields of Data Management offered by UTB. The industry experts will also help to develop UTB students in Data Analytics through research project supervision and internship programmes.
This will ensure UTB graduates undertaking degree programmes in Data Analytics become the much-needed data scientists of the future, well-equipped with the necessary skillsets and up-to-date knowledge aligned with the rapid progress of the technology.
UTB and BAG Networks will also share related resources; facilities and expertise for industry test-beds and product validation, to further develop the Data Analytics industry in Negara Brunei Darussalam.
