7 October 2017 – Universiti Brunei Darussalam (UBD), Universiti Islam Sultan Sharif Ali (UNISSA) and Universiti Teknologi Brunei (UTB), held a Doa Kesyukuran ceremony in conjunction with the Golden Jubilee Celebration of His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa'adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam’s accession to the throne, and. The ceremony was held at the University Mosque at Jalan Tungku Link.
At the same ceremony, a Doa Kesyukuran for Her Majesty Duli Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Hajah Saleha binti Al-Marhum Pengiran Pemancha Pengiran Anak Haji Mohamed Alam 71st birthday was also held.
Present at the Doa Kesyukuran ceremony was Datin Dr. Hajah Anita Binurul Zahrina binti POKLW DSS Haji Awang Abdul Aziz, Vice-Chancellor of UBD; Dr. Haji Norarfan bin Haji Zainal, Rector of UNISSA; Professor Dr. Dayang Hajah Zohrah binti Haji Sulaiman, Vice-Chancellor of UTB; senior official, lecturers, staff and students of the Universities.
The ceremony began with mass Sunat Hajat prayer led by Ustaz Haji Jufri bin Haji Hidup, the Mosque Affairs Officer. This was later followed by the mass recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah, Selawat, Surah Al-Waqiah, and Surah Al-Mulk, led by the Rector of UNISSA. The ceremony ended with the Doa Kesyukuran read by Ustaz Haji Jufri bin Haji Hidup.
