UTB’S Third Convocation Festival Continues With ‘Xlr8 Fun Run & Cycle’ and ‘Pop-Up Vendors’
In conjunction with Universiti Teknologi Brunei (UTB) Third Convocation Festival 2016 launched on 27 October 2016 with the theme ‘XLR8’ (Experiential Learning Partnerships), UTB continues to celebrate with another two exciting activities in support of Bandarku Ceria. The two activities include ‘XLR8 Fun Run & Cycle’ and ‘Pop-up Vendors’.
Present at the event were the Vice-Chancellor of UTB, Professor Dr. Hajah Zohrah binti Haji Sulaiman, and other principal officers, staffs, students and alumni of the University including the public.
The XLR8 Fun Cyclist kicks off at 7:00 am and joined the bigger group of cyclist that included His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam who consented to grace the Bandarku Ceria event at Taman SOAS this week. Meanwhile, the XLR8 Fun Runners starts their run at 8:00 am at a different route around Bandar Seri Begawan. Besides celebrating the graduates, the activity hopes to promote healthy lifestyle.
Also at the same time, ‘Pop-up Vendors’ was organised by the EXCO Economy & Entrepreneurship Executive Committee under UTB Student Representative Council (Majlis Perwakilan Pelajar UTB). The ‘Pop-up Vendors’ were stationed around Jalan Sultan, Jalan Pretty and Jalan Pemancha in Bandar Seri Begawan.
A total of 30 vendors participated in the event comprising of staffs, students, and alumni of the University including their close friends and family members. The number 30 was purposely chosen in line with UTB’s 30th Anniversary. Some of the items being sold by the vendors include food, beverages, apparels and other mini recreational activities. The event took place the whole day in the Capital.
