UTB Organises Brunei’s Coolest Entreprenuership Expo
In conjunction with Universiti Teknologi Brunei (UTB) Third Convocation Festival 2016, Brunei’s Coolest Entrepreneurship EXPO was held at the Parking Lot, Hassanal Bolkiah Stadium, Berakas. The event was organised by the EXCO Economy & Entrepreneurship Executive Committee, one of the 11 Executive Committees (EXCO) under the Student Representative Council of UTB (Majlis Perwakilan Pelajar UTB).
The Opening Ceremony of the Entrepreneurship EXPO was held today and officiated by the Guest of Honour, Professor Dr Hajah Zohrah binti Haji Sulaiman, the Vice-Chancellor of UTB.
The EXPO will be held for three days starting from the 28th to 30th October 2016 from 10am to 10pm except on Friday, from 2pm to 10pm. Attractions include sales booth by local vendors, animal exhibitions, light activities such as colouring, street soccer, lucky draw, and Brunei’s Talent Show.
In addition, there will be performances by local celebrities such as Hill Zaini, Method6Six, Aziz Harun, and Bruhooders during the three-day EXPO. Also, 15 best participants from Brunei’s Talent Show have been shortlisted and will perform during the EXPO. Participation was obtained via Instagram where they post a one minute video with the BCEE’s hashtag, #BTS #BruneiTalentShow #BCEE16. Prizes will be given to the top three winners of the competition.
The event acts as a platform for entrepreneurship development, entrepreneurial exposure, and to inspire and nurture youths to become more independent and be passionate in their ventures as well as injecting the sense of entrepreneurial mind-set in them. It is also hoped that youth particularly the students are able to learn and benefit from the experience gained from the activities.
