18 September 2021 – “Beyond the Classrooms LIVE@UTB Webinar Series” continued with a second series entitled Strategising your business using Data Analytics. This edition was co-organised by Tri-CEd and UTB School of Business (UTBSB) where it explored an in-depth look into building and making business thrive by utilising data analytics.
About forty-five participants consisting of students and graduates from UTB and the public attended the webinar. The session was delivered by Dr. Haji Saleem bin Haji Nazmudeen, Dean of UTBSB.
In the session, Dr. Haji Saleem shared about how data analytics practices are executed in the business world and able to nurture business growth. Besides business, he added that data analytics can be utilised in many other areas such as marketing and healthcare to name a few.
Among other key areas highlighted in the session were the infrastructure requirements, applications of data analytics, linking data analytics to the organisation/business strategy, and further study on data analytics.
The participants were also enlightened on the three types of analytics namely Descriptive, Predictive and Prescriptive. He added that these analytics may contribute to better decision making to boost business performances and to reach its strategic goals.
