18 June 2021- Coding Conquest 2021 is held through a series of workshops from the 18th to 19th June 2021 at the International Convention Centre, as part of Brunei Mid-Year Conference and Exhibition (MYCE)’s Digital Technology Week 2021.
The workshop is hosted by Universiti Teknologi Brunei (UTB), supported by Ministry of Primary Resources and Tourism (MPRT); sponsored by Authority for Info- Communications Technology Industry (AITI) and facilitated by Grominda Sdn. Bhd.
The two-day workshop covers a range of professional development topics including Project Management, Programming and Design Thinking conducted by experienced trainers and mentors from Grominda.
Fourty-three participants gained new industrial skills through short exercises and activities. The objective of the workshop is to ensure the participants will be well equipped and prepared for the upcoming main hackathon which will be held in December 2021 in conjunction with Brunei December Festival.
The workshops were open to members of the public, especially those who are interested in entrepreneurship, technology and design.
Coding Conquest is a platform for youths and technology enthusiast to come together and solve problems through innovative solutions. Coding Conquest 2021, will move up from block-Based Coding and into a programming language that is relevant in the present industry. This is through a comprehensive 10-week workshop that is involved with industry experienced trainers and mentors using the approach of in-depth learning and application of skill. This is to ensure participants are equipped with new skillsets and a portfolio to tackle current issues faced by industry and agencies.
