19 April 2021 – Aimed at utilising data to leverage growth opportunities, more than 150 staff and students of the University as well as members of the public attended the insightful webinar by Dell Technologies. The event was held both physically and virtually at SCI Lecture Theatre, Universiti Teknologi Brunei (UTB) and online platform.
The webinar was organised by Dell Technologies and Netcom Brunei with the support of Authority for Info-communications Technology Industry (AITI) and UTB.
The event began with an introductory remark by Dr Mohamad Saiful bin Haji Omar, Dean of School of Computing & Informatics (SCI) followed by remarks from Netcom, Mr Chan Siang Wei, IT Consultant.
The webinar then proceeded with a talk entitled ‘Rethinking Data Management for the Data Age’ which was conducted by the guest speaker, Mr Aaron Patterson, Principal Engineer & Chief Technology Officer Lead, Dell Technologies Asia Pacific & Japan (APJ).
As emerging technologies are enabling organisations to shift from iteration to innovation and create new business and customer value with data, the speaker explained about modernising the data management strategy to the attendees in order to achieve better outcomes with the emerging technologies, improve business outcomes and digitally differentiate.
The webinar concluded with a quiz among the attendees followed by prize presentation which was presented by Netcom Brunei.
