DIALOGUE SESSION BETWEEN MINISTER OF ENERGY AND PARTICIPANTS OF EXECUTIVE DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMMES

Participants from Executive Development Programme for Senior Government Officers (EDPSGO) and Executive Development Programme for Middle Management Officers (EDPMMO) gained greater insights about the country’s plans and ongoing projects that contribute to the nation’s economy at a dialogue session with Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia (Dr.) Awang Haji Mat Suny bin Haji Md Hussein, Minister of Energy.

The session took place at the Design & Technology Building, Anggerek Desa.

During the dialogue session, the Minister of Energy gave an overview of the Energy sector in Brunei Darussalam. The dialogue session was intended to provide the participants a better understanding about the roles of the Ministry of Energy in terms of its contributions to economic growth, providing jobs, and its future plans to improve Brunei’s gross domestic product (GDP).

With Brunei’s future plans and spin-off opportunities, the Minister also shared the initiatives taken by the ministry that aimed at addressing the unemployment issues in the Sultanate by providing job opportunities in the energy sector.

The participants are comprised of 24 government officers from EDPSGO and 25 government officers from EDPMMO. Also present at the session were Yang Mulia Pengiran Haji Jamra Weira bin Pengiran Haji Petra, Acting Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Energy; and Yang Mulia Professor Dr. Dayang Hajah Zohrah binti Hj Sulaiman, Vice-Chancellor of UTB.

The dialogue session was part of 28th Executive Development Programme for Senior Government Officers (EDPSGO) and 29th Executive Development Programme for Middle Management Officers (EDPMMO) organised by Public Service Department (JPA) in collaboration with Universiti Teknologi Brunei (UTB) which officially commenced of 18 August 2020.
