The issue of fly infestation at several villages in Mukim Pengkalan Batu was stressed by Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Ali bin Apong, Minister of Primary Resources and Tourism at a dialogue session with the participants of Executive Development Programmes.
Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Ali bin Apong gave an interactive session entitled ‘Infestasi Lalat Mukim Pengkalan Batu‘ that aimed to share potential solutions on infestation issue for well being of residences and farmers. The current initiatives and measures taken by Ministry of Primary Resources and Tourism were also shared by the Minister.
The dialogue involved a participation of 24 government officers from EDPSGO and 25 government officers from EDPMMO which was held at Lecture Theatre 2, Library Complex, UTB.
Also in attendance at the dialogue session was Professor Dr. Dayang Hajah Zohrah binti Hj Sulaiman, Vice-Chancellor of UTB.
During the dialogue session, a case scenario was given to the participants to demonstrate their knowledge. With this, the participants able to gain exposure in designing innovative ideas in combatting challenges of infestation through Public Private Partnership (PPP)/Private Sector Finance Initiatives (PSFI).
The dialogue session was part of the 28th Executive Development Programme for Senior Government Officers (EDPSGO), and 29th Executive Development Programme for Middle Management Officers (EDPMMO) organised by Public Service Department (PSD) in collaboration with Universiti Teknologi Brunei (UTB).
The 28th EDPSGO and 29th EDPMMO that officially began on 18th August 2020 include a number of developmental activities such as blended learning approach comprising of interactive lectures and webinars from both local and international facilitators, study visits, talks, community outreach activities and attached at a different working environment.
