‘Learning Adaptive Behaviours’ Opens CIE’s I-Talk Series
27 March 2016 – A talk on ‘Learning Adaptive Behaviours’ by Nurulhidayati Haji Mohd Sani was held today at The Pearl, Universiti Teknologi Brunei (UTB). The talk is the first of the I-Talk Series organized by UTB’s Centre for Innovative Engineering (CIE). Nurulhidayati is a PhD student in the School of Computing and Informatics.
The hour-long talk was attended by students from the Faculty of Engineering (FEng), School of Computing and Informatics (SCI), and UTB School of Business (SB).
In the presentation, Nurulhidayati explained on modelling knowledge acquisition and learning abilities of a rational agent. An example was given of a situation where if users want an agent to find its way to a certain destination in a new environment, the agent needs to gather information and perceive the environment through its sensors, and analyse its own actions whether the actions taken have led the agent to a new favourable situation. The agent will learn from the recorded data and analyse the navigation knowledge by using Data Mining (DM) technique. This knowledge is then used to control agents’ behaviours without intervention from a user.
