UTB School of Business students visit BIBD Securities
A group of UTB School of Business final year students undertaking Bachelor of Business (Hons) in Applied Economics & Finance, today, held a study visit to BIBD Securities at Kompleks Setia Kenangan, Kg Kiulap. Accompanying them were two lecturers from the School, Mr. Haji Aidil Salleh and Dr Shahid Anjum.
The objectives of the visit were to allow the students to gain a better and more in-depth understanding on BIBD operations in the Islamic securities space, Syariah compliant stocks & methodologies in the stock screening process, regulatory compliance as well as the challenges & opportunities on the formation of a stock exchange in Brunei Darussalam. This is relevant to the modules undertaken by the students under the Islamic Finance & Investment as well as Financial Organisation & Risk Management.
Delivering the talk to the students was Mr Jeffri Ahmad Said, Head of Transaction and Support Services from BIBD’s Corporate Banking Group. Also present was Haji Minorhadi Haji Mirhassan, Head of BIBD’s Government Relations & Special Projects cum Managing Director of BIBD.
