3 October 2019 – The Senior Minister and Coordinating Minister for National Security, His Excellency Teo Chee Hean visited Universiti Teknologi Brunei (UTB) and delivered a special talk at the Lecture Theatre 2, Library Complex, UTB.
His Excellency was accompanied by Minister for the Environment and Water Resources and Minister-In-Charge of Muslim Affairs, His Excellency Masagos Zulkifli bin Masagos Mohamad; Senior Minister of State for Defence, Mr. Heng Chee How; Senior Minister of State for Law and Health, Mr. Edwin Tong Chun Fai; and Senior Parliamentary Secretary for Foreign Affairs and Trade and Industry, Dr. Tan Wu Meng.
Upon arrival, His Excellency and the delegation were welcomed by Yang Mulia Datin Seri Paduka Dr. Hajah Romaizah binti Haji Mohd Salleh, Acting Minister of Education and Yang Mulia Awang Haji Ady Syarmin bin Hj Md Taib, Acting Vice-Chancellor of UTB.
The event began with recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah and Doa Selamat followed by a welcoming remark from the Acting Vice-Chancellor of UTB.
In the presence of permanent secretaries, deputy permanent secretaries of the ministries; UTB principal officers; staff and students of UTB; His Excellency delivered a talk on Singapore-Brunei relations in the Global Context. His Excellency also answered questions from the audience during the Question and Answer session.
Following the talk, His Excellency proceeded to the University’s library to sign the Visitor’s book.
Some selected projects by UTB graduates were also being showcased at the library where His Excellency interacted with the students and researchers of the university and learned about a range of projects including projects from the UTB School of Business, School of Computing and Informatics, Faculty of Engineering, and projects from School of Applied Sciences and Mathematics.
His Excellency ended his visit with a group photo session.
