24 September 2019 – His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam graced the 29th Teachers’ Day celebration in which UTB took part by showcasing its lifelong learning programmes at the exhibition that was held at the International Convention Centre (ICC) in Berakas.
His Majesty consented to present Teachers’ Day awards to a total of 27 recipients from three categories comprised of Meritorious Teacher Award, Excellent Teacher Award and Special Mention Teacher’s Day Appreciation where Dr. Lee Kok Yueh, lecturer from Centre for Communication, Teaching and Learning (CCTL) was amongst the awarded recipients.
His Majesty and members of the royal family then toured the exhibitions outside the Plenary Hall of ICC. At the exhibition, under the lifelong learning section, UTB showcased two focused areas namely Customised Programmes and Academic Programmes that are being offered at the University. Presenting to His Majesty and members of the royal family at UTB booth were Yang Mulia Awang Haji Ady Syarmin bin Hj Md Taib, Acting Vice-Chancellor of UTB and other relevant staff.
The concept of the exhibition focused on three areas in line with the 29th Teacher’s Day theme, Quality Education as the Core of Students’ Excellence.
