10 September 2019 – A total of forty-two students under the Brunei Shell Joint Ventures (BSJV) Scholarship Scheme signed their scholarship contracts in a ceremony held at the Indera Samudra Grand Hall, Empire Hotel & Country Club. Fourteen students out of the forty-two are from UTB.
Presenting the First Class Achievers Awards to four returning scholars was Yang Mulia Awang Haji Zolkiflee bin Haji Abdul Karim, Permanent Secretary (Manpower), Ministry of Energy, Manpower and Industry (MEMI). Also present at the ceremony was the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Brunei LNG Sdn Bhd, Yang Mulia Mr. Patrice Girard and from UTB was Yang Mulia Dr. Dayang Hajah Noor Maya binti Hj Md Salleh, Assistant Vice-Chancellor (Academic) of UTB.
The students will be pursuing higher education at local universities such as UTB and Universiti Brunei Darussalam (UBD), in addition to other universities in the United Kingdom.
Brunei Shell Petroleum Co Sdn (BSP) has sponsored more than 700 scholarships under the BJSV Scholarship Scheme since 1972, allowing young Bruneians to pursue higher education both locally and internationally.
