Universiti Teknologi Brunei (UTB) held an International Day to celebrate the different cultures of various citizens in the university and to educate both the local and international students about each other’s values and culture. Some of the international students are from Cameroon, India, Tanzania, Gambia, Sierra Leone, Sri Lanka, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Malaysia, Laos and others. The annual event was held at the university’s concourse, and was organised by the Executive Committee (EXCO) International Affairs, and EXCO Culture, of the Student Representative Council UTB (Majlis Perwakilan Pelajar UTB).
The event was attended by The Guest of Honour, Yang Mulia Haji Ady Sharmin bin Haji Taib, Assistant Vice-Chancellor (Industry and Services), Principal officers, staff and students of UTB.
The event began with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah and Doa Selamat, followed by opening remarks by the Chairperson to commemorate the opening ceremony of the International Day. At the event, UTB International students showcased their national costumes, dishes and delicacies. The EXCO Culture also organised some traditional games, and activities from Brunei, Korea, and Japan to promote traditional games, and the Culture Clubs that is offered at the University.
