UTB participates in 12th QS-APPLE
UTB participated in the 12th QS-APPLE event from 22-24 November 2016 at the Putrajaya International Convention Centre, Putrajaya, Malaysia. The event was co-organized by Quacquarelli Symonds (QS), a leading international ranking institution, and Universiti Malaysia Perlis (UniMAP).
QS-APPLE annually convenes academics and policymakers under one roof to discuss a diverse range of topics including internationalization and other emerging models of learning in higher education. In previous years, conference locations have included Bali, Hong Kong, Kuala Lumpur, Manila, Seoul, Singapore, Taipei and Melbourne.
UTB participated in the exhibition and the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Dr. Hajah Zohrah binti Hj Sulaiman, delivered a presentation entitled ‘360o Students Model for Global Citizenship’ in a parallel session on The Global Citizen. The presentation described a formal approach for developing students into well-equipped global citizens through the 360o student model for educating a socially and economically responsible and marketable global citizen with strong MIB values. The model provides a framework for creating stimulating learning environments and academic programmes that promotes global citizenship education.
Also attending the conference were Hj Ady Syarmin Hj Md Taib, Director of International and Public Relations Office, and Dr. Lee Kok Yueh, Planning and Development Office Coordinator.
