TALK PROVIDES INSIGHTS INTO INDIAN SPACE RESEARCH ORGANISATION’S JOURNEY

28 April 2021 – Scientists from Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) shared their insights and journey during a talk hosted by Universiti Teknologi Brunei (UTB) at Lecture Theatre 2, Library Complex of the University. The talk was attended by invited guests and academics of the university.

The event began with a welcoming remark by Yang Mulia Professor Mohamed Hasnain Isa, Assistant Vice-Chancellor (Research) followed by a talk from ISRO.

A talk entitled ‘Space Journey of ISRO: Present, Past & Future’ was delivered by Yang Mulia Mr Dharvendra Yadav, Scientist/Engineer-SE, ISRO, where he presented a detailed presentation about the organisation and its journey.

The attendees were briefed on how ISRO was first established by Government of India with the help of Dr Vikram Sarabhai, who is widely known as the Father of Indian Space Program that initiated the space research. ISRO’s developments in terms of its satellite operations, launch vehicles as well as spacecraft and launch missions were also presented.

According to Dr Vikram Sarabhai, ISRO has established a comprehensive network of ground stations to monitor the launch vehicle missions and tracking of satellites which is grouped under ISRO Telemetry, Tracking and Command Network (ISTRAC). Among the ground stations that has been established by ISTRAC included Brunei that located at Tungku Submarine Cable Station.
