VIRTUAL SIGNING BETWEEN UNIVERSITI TEKNOLOGI BRUNEI AND MANAGEMENT & SCIENCE UNIVERSITY

12 April 2021 – The partnership between Universiti Teknologi Brunei (UTB) and Management & Science University (MSU) has initiated with a Virtual Signing Ceremony of the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) connecting the two institutions held in Brunei and Malaysia respectively.

Signing on behalf of UTB was the Vice-Chancellor, Yang Mulia Professor Dr. Dayang Hajah Zohrah binti Hj Sulaiman and representing MSU was the President, Yang Berbahagia Professor Tan Sri Dato’ Wira Dr Mohd Shukri Ab Yajid.

Also present physically at the UTB campus was principal officers of the university.

The event began with a welcoming remark by the President of MSU followed by remarks by the Vice-Chancellor of UTB.

The Vice-Chancellor of UTB mentioned that this collaboration is in line with UTB’s vision of becoming a ‘Global University Impacting Society’, and also supports the nation’s drive to realise Brunei’s Vision 2035. “The collaboration and cooperation with international institution such as MSU, is one of the key enablers of internalisation initiatives”, she said.

“UTB welcomes MSU to collaborate in areas of common interests, exploring opportunities to address a wide array of challengers”. She said that university collaborations have evolved tremendously where it is not just focusing on longstanding commitment to serve the public good but also help attracts the resources, relationships and recognition necessary for these institutions to be competitive in an environment. “Collaboration are becoming more essential for institutions to adapt and thrive amid economic volatility, demographic shifts and technological developments”, she added.

The event then proceeded with the signing of MOU. Under the agreement, it is intended to explore collaborations on joint research efforts, conferences and webinars as well as the mobility of students and staff between the two universities.
