1 December 2020 – To further strengthen strategic cooperation between Universiti Teknologi Brunei (UTB) and Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports (MCYS), a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) was inked at the Lecture Hall, Hassanal Bolkiah National Stadium.
Other higher institutions, Universiti Islam Sultan Sharif Ali (UNISSA); Kolej Universiti Perguruan Ugama Seri Begawan (KUPUSB); and College of International Graduate Studies (KIGS) also signed with MCYS.
Present as the Guest of Honour at the signing ceremony was Yang Berhormat Mejar Jeneral (B) Dato Paduka Seri Haji Aminuddin Ihsan bin Pehin Orang Kaya Saiful Mulok Dato Seri Paduka Haji Abidin; Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports.
Signing on behalf of MCYS was Yang Mulia Pengiran Haji Mohd Hasnan bin Pengiran Haji Ali Hassan, Permanent Secretary (Strategic and Policy Management) and for UTB was Yang Mulia Professor Dr. Dayang Hajah Zohrah binti Haji Sulaiman, Vice-Chancellor of UTB. Meanwhile, representing UNISSA was Yang Mulia Dr. Haji Norarfan bin Haji Zainal, Rector of UNISSA, and for KUPUSB was Yang Mulia Dr. Haji Adanan bin Haji Basar, Ra’es KUPUSB. Yang Mulia Dr. Azaharaini bin Haji Mohd Jamil, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of KIGS signed on behalf of KIGS.
This collaboration marks as an effort to support His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam on the use of the whole of nation approach to improve the quality of life of the people, especially in responding to the Industrial Fourth Revolution (4IR).
Among other areas of cooperation include the exchange of ideas, visits and information in related fields; implementation of research studies, preservation, publication and documentation of research results; access to materials, library resources; use of facilities; and the formation of digital technology, information software and innovation.
After the signing ceremony, the Guest of Honour was given a tour to the booths that were set up by the respective higher institutions.
