7 November 2020 – To raise awareness and provide a better understanding on the Shariah law, a talk on ‘Makarimal Akhlak dan Program Tanbih dan Tahsin’ was held at the Lecture Theatre 1, UTB.
In attendance was the Assistant Vice-Chancellor (Industry & Services) of UTB, Yang Mulia Awang Haji Ady Syarmin bin Haji Md Taib. Also present were principal officers, staff and students of the university.
The talk began with an introductory presentation of the Religious Enforcement Division followed by the explanation of general shariah offenses and penal codes as well as islamic family laws in the Sultanate.
The guest speaker, Yang Mulia Awang Abdul Kadir bin Abdul Rahman, Assistant Religious Officer, Ministry of Religious Affairs also highlighted on the punishments of committing immoral acts such as sariqah (theft), consuming alcohol, khalwat (close proximity), void marriages and more.
The talk organised by Religious Unit, Student Affairs Office hoped to provide the attendees a better understanding about the law and to be mindful of their morals and behaviours in everyday life.
