8 August 2020 – An engagement session on Research at UTB with Professor Dr. Mohamed Hasnain Isa, the Assistant Vice-Chancellor (Research) was held at the Lecture Theatre 2, Library Complex.
The session was opened with a brief overview of the University’s Research Centres and Research Thrusts by Professor Dr. Mohamed Hasnain. It then proceeded with the presentations on the development and progress on each research thrusts’ activities which were delivered by research thrusts leaders and representatives respectively. The engagement concluded with a question and answer session.
The engagement session was a continuation of the previous session that took place on 18 January 2020, where Professor Dr. Hasnain touched on the importance of conducting research and its impact on education which is in line with one of UTB’s strategic focus areas; Translational Research. It is hoped that the research activities can be applied in different settings and can be transformed into tangible products as well as enhance Technopreneurship culture and enterprise.
At UTB, research is clustered into six Research Thrusts based on a multidisciplinary research philosophy and Brunei Vision 2035. The research thrusts include Agrifood, Society & Enterprise, Energy, Sustainable Built Environment, Digital & Creativity, and Wellness.
