IFABS Asia 2016 Brunei Conference Gala Dinner & Awards Ceremony

IFABS Asia 2016 Brunei Conference gala dinner and awards ceremony was held last night at Royal Berkshire Hall, Jerudong Park & Polo Country Club, Jerudong. Special guest at the ceremony was Associate Professor Dr. Hajah Zohrah binti Haji Sulaiman, Vice-Chancellor of Universiti Teknologi Brunei (UTB).

Also present at the event were UTB Principal Officers, AMBD representatives, UTB School of Business lecturers, IFABS members, committee members, delegates and participants.

At the ceremony, the vice-chancellor presented the Awards for IFABS Asia 2016 Brunei Conference. The ‘IFABS Best Paper Award’ was awarded to Mr. Peter Swan from the University of New South Wales, Australia with his paper entitled The Complementary Roles of Board Incentives and Market Monitoring: Theory and Evidence. Meanwhile, the ‘IFABS Best PhD Paper Award’ was given to Mr. Yong Kil Ahn from Hong Kong University of Science and Technology with his paper entitled Capital Heterogeneity, Volatility Risk, and the Value Premium.

Appreciation to the four keynote speakers whom have shared their extensive knowledge and expertise throughout the conference were also presented. The keynote speakers include Yang Mulia Awang Yusof bin Haji Abdul Rahman, Managing Director of the Autoriti Monetari Brunei Darussalam (AMBD); Yang Mulia Professor William Megginson from the University of Oklahoma; Yang Mulia Professor Naoyuki Yoshino, Dean of Asian Development Bank Institute; and Yang Mulia Mr Ashishkumar Chauhan, CEO of the Bombay Stock Exhange. The event later continued with another appreciation presentation to the moderators for each keynote speaker’s session.

The event concluded with a photo session with all attendees.
