Universiti Teknologi Brunei (UTB) received wakaf or endowment of 100 copies of mushaf Al-Quran from the Meraih Barkah Group. A ceremony for the handing over of the mushaf was held at UTB.
The wakaf was handed over by Dayang Hajah Florinda binti Haji Mejenis, as head of the Meraih Barkah group to the Vice-Chancellor of UTB, Professor Dr. Hajah Zohrah binti Haji Sulaiman.
Some of the mushaf will be used by participants who have taken part in the University’s annual Tadarus Al-Quran programme for Ramadhan 1438, which will culminate with a Khatam Al-Quran ceremony to be held on June 22, 2017. The mushaf will also be distributed to orphans and for general use of UTB staff and students.
UTB and the Meraih Barkah Group share a common aspiration to encourage activities that bring staff and students closer to the Quran through regular reading as well as introspection and application of invaluable lessons contained in the verses.
