THE Oil and Gas Discovery Centre (OGDC) and Universiti Teknologi Brunei (UTB) are currently co-hosting the first ever Jumpstart Junior Innovation Engineering Programme, in a joint effort to boost Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) learning among secondary school students in Brunei.
Twenty-three secondary school students from across the country are participating in the five-day workshop, which features a hands-on approach to learning about the Robotic VEX EDR system and other elements which are crucial to engineering.
The students will also take part in a competition on the final day of the course on March 25, as a test of their innovative skills.
It is hoped the programme will bolster the young participants’ knowledge and inspire them to take up STEM-related careers in the future.
