UTB Held Pop-Up Career Fair
Universiti Teknologi Brunei (UTB) held a Pop-Up Career Fair in conjunction with UTB’s Third Convocation Festival 2016, at the Engineering Block, Phase 3, UTB. The event was jointly organised by the Career Guidance, Unit under the Student Affairs Office and the Student Representative Council of UTB (Majlis Perwakilan Pelajar, UTB).
The Opening Ceremony of the Pop-up Career Fair was held today and officiated by the Guest of Honour, Professor Dr Hajah Zohrah binti Haji Sulaiman, the Vice-Chancellor of UTB. Also present at the event were the university’s Principal Officers, staff, students as well as other representatives from the invited organizations at the fair.
A total of nine (9) organizations participated in the event. The organizations include Pertubuhan Ukur, Jurutera dan Arkitek, Negara Brunei Darussalam (PUJA), Baiduri Bank, Crescent Sdn Bhd, Dot Root Technology, SPHIERE Sdn Bhd, Armtrix Enterprise, Brunei Shell Petroleum Co. Sdn Bhd (BSP), Technical Equipment Maintenance Division (TEMD), and Slingmax Sdn Bhd.
The aims of the event are to provide an opportunity for the industry to attract talents amongst UTB’s pool of graduates and students as well as job seekers and to provide an opportunity to current and prospective students to learn career pathways that are relevant to their area of study and interests.
Also happening throughout the day, were a series of motivational talks on Career and Entrepreneurship; Interview workshops amongst others that were hoped to help the newly graduates and job seekers to stay motivated and current while instilling confidence in their job seeking endeavors.
